About us: The Dixons

For quite some time, Diane and I wanted to go round the world when we retired. To see as many countries, cultures, people, places, buildings, languages and landscapes as possible. So, now that we are both relatively young (in mind and spirit), fit (no aids required) and able (for now), this is the time to seek the adventure we dreamed of. Of course, not backpacking - left that years ago. So this is a trip in some sort of luxury but, even so, 6 months away from home living with a suitcase or two is quite a challenge for us. We hope the experience will continue to stimulate our knowledge bank on how people live their everyday lives in countries so far from the U.K. We fully expect to be humbled by how families are content with their existence that would contrast so severely with our lifestyle. We are excited to start this adventure; hopefully you will enjoy being part of that!
